痛风发作会在人体关节部位引发炎症和剧烈疼痛,但过了一段时间后,炎症通常会自动减弱,疼痛感也逐渐消失。这为何会发生?德国研究人员发现,原因在于一种人体免疫细胞的“抗原抗体式攻击”。
痛风的病因是体内嘌呤物质新陈代谢紊乱,导致尿酸合成增加、排出减少,造成高尿酸血症。血液中尿酸浓度过高时,尿酸会以微小的钠盐结晶(俗称痛风石)形式析出,积累在关节、软骨和肾脏中,引发炎症。
德国埃尔朗根大学近日发表研究公报称,其研究人员发现,人体免疫系统的嗜中性粒细胞在抗击痛风引发的炎症中发挥了关键作用。实验显示,这种免疫细胞会在关节等组织的炎症部位聚集,然后破裂死亡,死亡细胞释放的DNA和蛋白质等物质形成了一张紧密的网络,包裹住痛风石。
炎症反应越激烈,就会有越多的嗜中性粒细胞参与抗炎,形成的网络会越紧密和复杂,能捕获的痛风石晶体也越多。被这张网络捕获的痛风石晶体会逐渐分解,患者的痛风症状也就慢慢消失。
此外研究人员指出,嗜中性粒细胞的免疫机制在抑制囊肿性纤维化和系统性红斑狼疮中也扮演了重要的角色。他们希望这一发现将有助于在未来研发治疗多种疾病的药物。

Experiments have shown that such immune cells accumulate at the site of inflammation in joints and other tissues and then rupture and death. The DNA and proteins released by dead cells form a tight network that encapsulates tophus.
The more intense the inflammatory response is, the more neutrophils are involved in anti-inflammatory and the more compact and complex the network is and the more gouty stone crystals can be captured. Gout stone crystal captured by this network will be gradually decomposed, the patient's gout symptoms will gradually disappear.
In addition, researchers pointed out that neutrophil immune mechanisms also play an important role in the suppression of cystic fibrosis and systemic lupus erythematosus. They hope this finding will help to develop drugs for the treatment of multiple diseases in the future.
