（六）包埋（埋蜡、沉床）
材料浸蜡后再换两次已熔融的纯蜡，然后将材料和石蜡一起倒入提前叠好的包埋纸盒中，用加热的镊子迅速将材料按一定的间隔和所需的切面摆放整齐，同时用加热的镊子赶走材料周围的气泡，待纸盒表面的石蜡凝固后将纸盒平放入冷水中，使石蜡迅速凝固。zui后从纸盒中取出蜡块，以便保存。注意将样品编号封于蜡块上，以免样品混淆。
（七）修块
将已包埋好的蜡块切成小块，每一小块包含一块材料。然后按照所需的切面，用单面刀片将小蜡块切成梯形，并可粗视到材料切面。然后用烧红的蜡铲把蜡块底部牢固的粘接在载蜡器上。
（八）切片
用切片机（如旋转切片机）将蜡块切成连续的蜡带。切片时先把切片刀夹在刀架上，再把载蜡器夹在固定装置上（注意安装切刀的角度，刀口运行方向与材料切面平行），然后调整好所需厚度，一般可在7~14微米，视材料和所需观察对象而定，一般叶片、芽可厚些，胚囊和花粉粒可薄些，转动切片机切片。
