溫帶氣旋對中高緯度地區的天氣變化有著重要的影響,多風雨天氣,有時伴有暴雨或強對流天氣,有時近地面zui大風力可達10級以上。
溫帶氣候是世界上分布的氣候類型。由于溫帶氣候分布地域廣泛,類型復雜繁多,從而為生物界創造了良好的氣候環境,形成了豐富多彩的動植物界。從植物的種類上來看,有夏綠闊葉林、針葉林和針闊混交林,大陸內部也有草原、半沙漠和沙漠。草原地區生活著善跑能飛的動物;在闊葉林中生活著大型食肉類動物;針葉林中生活著一些耐寒動物。南溫帶處于南緯23°26'~66°34'之間,即南回歸線和南極圈之間的溫帶,無陽光直射。海洋生物的發育和生長條件與北溫帶相似。海生植物繁茂,巨型藻類生長*,浮游生物豐富,是南半球海洋動物zui多的地帶。南回歸線到南極圈之間的區域為南溫帶。
南溫帶是指南回歸線和南極圈之間的地區,即南緯66°34′到南緯23°26′之間的緯度帶。主要包括南美洲的南部,大洋洲南部和非洲的南部地區。

涼溫帶(又稱中溫帶)

The southern temperate zone belongs to the mid-latitude zone between the Tropic and Polar Circles. In this heat zone, the height of the sun changes greatly at noon of the year.
